The "Team Player of the Year" award will be present on closing day to a Major Division girl who best exemplifies the ideals taught by Bill Swift. They are:
ATTITUDE
CONGENIALITY
DEDICATION
DEPENDABILITY
DESIRE
DETERMINATION
EFFORT
HUSTLE
INTEGRITY
SPORTSMANSHIP
TEAM PLAY
Each team will nominate one player who best demonstrates these attributes, regardless of ability. Ability will not be a consideration in selecting the recipients.
A perpetual plaque with the name of those selected each year will be displayed at the Peterson Park Snack Bar. A copy of this plaque will be given to the winner each year.
We'd like each of the managers, coaches, and parents in the league to study the list of Bill Swift's ideals. Bill will be greatly missed by those of us who played with him, knew him, or were fortunate enough to call him friend. The finest thing we can do in honor of him is to try to continue teaching his ideals.
