In 1985, the Diamond Bar Girls'Softball League established a yearly scholarship award in memory of Michelle Lardenoit, who played and umpired in the league. Candidates for this award must apply by submitting an application for committee review and final selection.
To be a candidate for the scholarship, a girl must have played in the league for a minimum of two complete seasons, have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to attend an institution of higher learning the following school year.
The money for the scholarship is obtained from a special savings account which was established from the snack bar revenues the first two years. The value of the scholarship is a function of the interest earned on the account. Anyone wishing to donate to the account should contact any board member.
